ETHICS IN PHOTOGRAPHY
A blog about the ethics of shooting, manipulating and displaying images. Clarifying our fundamental values helps us assign priorities in our lives, and learn to respect other people’s values. Consider how you feel when being photographed, and how you treat others when photographing them or posting the images. In these times of “fake media” accusations, we also need to clarify the elusive idea of credibility and truth in photography.
Questions and observations here grew out of 30 years shooting worldwide, personally and professionally, and from student discussions in the online course “Ethics in Media & Photography” I teach at the University of Alaska, Kenai. I hope you find the discussions relevant and informative, and welcome your input.
